Excerpt

Nat

Oops sorry!

Luc

That’s okay.

Nat

Oh! Don’t I know you? Were we at Primary school together?

Luc

Were we?

Nat

Yes. Is your name…Luc?

Luc

Yes it is. Ah, I think I remember you now. We were in the same class.

Nat

Yes. Our teacher was Miss Lemon. They were great times weren’t they?

They edge a bit further along in the queue

Hints & tips

  • This duologue is ideal for Grade 2 exams – but can also be used at other levels.
  • Either of the characters Nat and Luc can be male or female.
  • You may be able to find two shopping trolleys as props, but if not you can improvise with two chairs pushed along with some items on the seat.
  • You can use a table as the checkout.
  • Time this piece carefully as you move along the stage bit by bit until you reach the checkout at the right time in the script.
