SHOOTING STARS: MOON
ABOUT
Moon is based on an extract from the musical The Moonrakers by Nicholas Keyworth and Philip Jamieson. It is ideally suited for Gold level Trinity Stars (Young Performers Awards) from Trinity College London.
The story is set beside a beautiful pond in the aftermath of a terrible storm where the moon appears to have fallen into the pond. It is only through the planting of an acorn can their world be repairs and the moon be restored back up into the sky.
The children are divided into four groups of Pond Dwellers: Duckings (young Ducks), Goslings (young Geese), Cygnets (Young Swans) and Moorhen Chicks.
The piece includes flexible lines for individuals, a fun section of group mime and an enjoyable song for everyone to sing.
They also make masks for their characters which they can colour and decorate individually. These are worn during the performance.
