THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT

by Philip Jamieson

Suitable for Initial

Stage directions

Rey loves collecting things and arrives with a big box to show some friends some of the objects in the collection. Some of the things described could be shown as actual props, but other things can just be described.

Excerpt

Rey

Rey places the box on a table and starts to open it

Do you like collecting things? I love collecting all sorts of things, but I like things which are the same… but different. Let me show you.

(Rey continues to open the box and starts to show the collection). Here, I have two wonderful teddy bears. They are  exactly alike except that one is really small, and the other one – this one – is huge! But I love them both the same.
