Suitable for Grade 3

Stage directions

Tel is speaking to a friend on a mobile talking excitedly about an amazing new invention. Let appears at the side of the stage and hears the end of the conversation.

Excerpt

Tel

(Still on the phone) I know. It’s amazing, isn’t it? I made it as part of my science project. It’s a real working time machine. I’m giving it a first test run tonight at the science club. (Slight pause). Great. Bye. I’ll see you later.

Let

(Walking up to Tel and calling out urgently) Don’t!

Tel

(Ending the phone call abruptly) What do you mean? And who are you?

Let

Well, I’m me – but I’m also you.

Tel

Seriously? But, you don’t look anything like me.

Let

That’s because I’m from the future. I’m your future self.

Tel

How can you be my future self? We don’t look alike?
